We are excited to welcome you to campus for Boston University’s Family & Friends Weekend 2025 happening Friday, October 17, through Sunday, October 19! Parking your vehicle on-campus during Family & Friends Weekend is permitted in specific lots at certain times. A parking permit for the 2025 weekend will be available prior to the event.Please print the complimentary parking pass prior to your arrival on campus. As your student begins their transition to BU, you might be asking yourself a lot of questions about student life and your involvement. We’ll cover it all in our Parent & Family orientation program this spring. Comprised of seven, on-line Know At Hotel Commonwealth, catering to BU families during the most important events of the academic calendar – move-in week, parents week, athletic games and more up to and including commencement – is always our top priority. To that end, we extend this invitation to all BU parents to join our Boston University Parents Program. Official Academic Calendars: The Academic Calendar is a schedule of all the events that occur in an academic year including the final exam period, holidays, and the last day of the semester. You may view semester-specific University deadlines on Semester Dates. Friday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26, 2025 Fall is a beautiful time to visit Boston and reconnect with your student. We encourage you to make hotel reservations now and register in mid-September. We recommend that you follow our own Next Steps Checklist for New BU Families as well. New students will be able to move in on Saturday, August 23 or Sunday, August 24, 2025, and New Student Orientation programming and events will take place from Monday, August 25–Friday, August 29, 2025.
