Family Weekend Schedule Friday, October 24 – Sunday, October 26 - From grandparents to siblings, Family Weekend gives the whole family a chance to see UW–Madison through the eyes of their Badger. The weekend features a wide variety of programming options, including behind-the-scenes tours, photo opportunities with Bucky, a special welcome reception with the Chancellor, discounted tickets and more. Cooking classes to exhibit openings. See what's coming up! JMU returns home on Saturday, Sept. 27 for Family Weekend and its Sun Belt opener against Georgia Southern. The Eagles lead the series 9-2, but JMU is 2-3 in home games, which includes a 41-13 victory in Harrisonburg in 2023. Fall Semester 2025 August 15-17, Friday – Sunday: Residence halls open for first year students on assigned days. August 20, Wednesday: Classes meet as scheduled. September 9, Tuesday: Last day to withdraw from the university with cancellation of tuition charges and refund. September 26-28, Friday- Sunday: Family Weekend October 7, Tuesday: First Block courses end. October 8, Wednesday Summer Festivals taking place in and around Madison, Wisconsin. Different than any of the Parent and Family Program’s other events, BFSV is much less structured which gives families the freedom to choose which weekends and which events they would like to attend.
